CHIRP is proud to support El Santo on the Big Screen.
As part of the two-day celebration El Santo Takes Over Chicago, the festivities begin with an El santo double feature presented by Chicago Latino film programmer Raúl Benítez.
The double feature begins with 1971's Santo in the Vengeance of the Mummy presented in 35mm and follows Santo and his companions as they they disturb the tomb of a mummified Aztec warrior which unleashes a deadly curse, and then proceed with 1970's Santo vs the Riders of Terror pitting Santo against a gang of outlaws who have taken control of a group of escaped lepes.
The screenings will also feature a special appearance by Viviana García Besné discussing their book Luchadores Vs. Everything.
The festivities kickoff at 11:30 AM at the Music Box Theater.
