I got my start in radio when a friend of mine and I would pester the DJ at 92.7 THE BEAR in Arlington Heights, IL to let us sit in on her show. She took kindly to us (for some unknown reason) and let us do just that so long as we were quiet during her breaks. I got my first DJ experience at WHCM, Harper College Radio, where I had a great time till someone was appointed Music Director and stopped all the fun I was having almost immediately. A couple of years later, I waltzed up to the offices at Q101 and somehow managed to find someone to speak to plainly explaining how I should start work right then and there. Needless to say, it didn't work out. I had a bit more confidence back then. Though it took many years, I eventually found a new home here at CHIRP and haven't looked back since!
