My father raised us on Stan Kenton and The Four Freshmen … from there I expanded to Chicago, and Blood, Sweat & Tears. In college, my range expanded exponentially while being a DJ on the dorm’s “carrier current” radio. In Chicago, I listened to commercial radio until it got so repetitive and ad-filled, I turned it off. I heard about the idea of CHIRP, and began donating toward the concept. Once CHIRP began broadcasting, it made listening to radio a pleasure again. It took no time to get hooked and re-awaken the passion for music. After a handful of years as a listener, I committed to becoming a DJ. Since then, I’ve held down the Tuesday night, 10pm to Midnight slot, though I always go longer. It's fun to bring a variety of music to our listeners. I love that we're not bots, we're not AI, we're not computer-generated algorithms of music. We're unique and essential, and we're glad you're out there, listening.
